Boutique Hotels in Chinatown
This is the original area of Bangkok when it was first established as the capital and used to be surrounded by the city walls although few reminders can be seen today. Chinatown is a colourful district full of local character and makes for a convenient base for nearby tourist attractions such as the Grand Palace and Wat Po.

Chakrabongse
House

The 3 villas are located
in the grounds of Chakrabongse House which was
built in 1908 by HRH Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath. Following his death
at the age of 37, the house was inherited by his son, Prince Chula
Chakrabongse, who resided there until he died in 1963. Today, the house
and villas are maintained by Prince Chula's daughter, MR Narisa. Exclusivity combined with a superb location
on the banks of the Chao Phraya River means that it is advisable to
book your stay here well in advance.

Choose from the Riverside Villa, the Garden Suite or the traditional Ayutthaya-style wooden Thai House on stilts. All 3 of the private apartments are fitted to a luxurious standard and include wi-fi and in-room safe. Guests also have use of the pool and the Sala dining area.

Shanghai Inn

Situated in the heart of bustling Chinatown, the decor at the
Shanghai Inn reflects the Chinese heritage of the area. The
51
Superior Rooms (25 sq. m) and 4 Junior Suites (37 sq. m) are vibrantly
coloured and many of the rooms have antique-style four-poster beds for
an added romantic touch. Traffic on Yaowaraj Road can be extremely busy
even by Bangkok
standards, but there are plenty of alternative transport options close
at hand. Not surprisingly, the area is home to some of the best Chinese
restaurants and food stalls in Bangkok.
